Bit of travelling around Leicestershire this last couple of weeks....
Hand Painting and Gold-leaf Gilding on a board or two in Oadby and over to Great Bowden in Market Harborough for a bit of Traditional Signwriting on a new fascia @Bowden-stores.
Both jobs are repeat customers so a big thanks to all my repeat  business. I'm incredibly grateful for your trust in my work and look forward to seeing you again in the future!

Had the honour of being asked to update this lovely old board in Sutton Coalfield this week.
What a cracker of a board it is! ...just love to see all these old boards with entries going back generations. That being said, the last few entries are quite 'a bit' out ( not my work lol! )
Anyway, it has 'Character' as my Dad mentioned yesterday, which is the perfect word to describe this board I think!
It was agreed we go back to the style and weight of most of the earlier entries so that's what I tried to match as near as possible here.
Signwritten and gilded by hand without tape on a roasting day in june! :)

Back @Penders this week, laying down some paint on this lovely old mk1 transit flatbed.
No fancy stuff on this one, just the Sans Serif block style that is on all his vehicles, with a drop shadow 🫡😊.
Always a cool place to work surrounded by vintage vehicles.

Got the honour of doing some more Historic Restoration Signwork here in my home city of Leicester. This time in the Legal Quarter of Greyfriars Conservation Area.
Project being to restore an original old wooden sign for a local Law Stationers ( sadly long gone now ) to its former glory. This being just a small part of the restoration underway at the moment around this side of the city.
The lettering was traced and copied before restoring the sign itself, then the lettering was repainted the same style, layout and colours as the original using tradition hand painted methods.
Really pleased how this came out and a pleasure to be able to work as part of this Historic Project.
