Been a couple of weeks since i updated on here ( a few  more on @alscottsigns on Instagram )
So posting a few snaps of recent projects and works..
From a full Honours Board signwritten to match existing boards residing in a local Private School, to the rear of a Classic Harley-Davidson India 3 wheeler and a little restoration project on a header for a Maccano Accessories display case.
The last two are a little older, but have forgotten to post these before so thought they would fit nicely here , The Chalk Board is done in permanent chalk effect paints for a local barbers and the Jack Daniels No 7 is painted direct to the internal wall in a local leicestershire Village pub.

All these examples are traditional signwriting, done with the good ol' brush and mahl stick.

Works completed onsite for the majority of this one, the Lettering done in cool grey hand painted direct to the external fascia, autumn 2020.

Design/production & installation on this van signwriting for local gas firm.
This  has a full colour printed flame logo which was designed specifically for this client.
That flame sure does stand out nicely on the silver van!

Ghost Signs : 'Ghost signs are also called fading ads or brickads. In many cases these are advertisements painted on brick that remained over time.'

These are such an honour to do really, especially knowing that you are restoring another Signwriter's work from the past.
This one was very faded indeed ( as you can see from the first photo below ), and was a bit of a challenge to trace off the lettering underneath to repaint it.
The lettering/spacing and colours are as near the same as the original i could get from the original tracing .
Thoroughly enjoyed doing this one, and hopefully this sign will be visable for years to come!

As well as the traditional side of my trade i also do vehicle and van graphics in many shapes and sizes!
Here's a recent one that was initially just a plain white van, converted to a camper.
The brief really was to design something that looked as if its a showroom model design, but bespoke enough to look different and unique.
The benefit of doing it this way is that you can have something totally 'yours' and tweak and chose your desired colours and patterns to suit the vehicle.
This was all installed onsite so no need to have the van off the road.

Couple of photos from a recent project :
This is a refurb/rewrite of an old board that required changing to its new content.
The Church Board is destined for the Island of Lundy and is part of the Diocese of Exeter.
Honoured to help out on this, and contribute to the traditional signwritten church signage.
All hand painted including the shields in each top corner of the sign.

Close-up photo of one of the Shields, reminds me of all the Pub Pictorials i've done in the past with Heraldic Shields!

Traditional Sign Writer methods used for these wall signs.
As you may notice from the photos, the wall is not flat! :-) ,this is why this sort of project is best done the traditional way, hand painted with brush, paint and the good ol' mahl stick for support.
The end result is a unique bespoke sign that will stand out for years to come.

Cool simple yet stylish design on this one. The lettering was signwritten onsite, using signwriters external satin white enamels. All done with brush and paint ( no stickers or masks here! lol ) .. old school methods for a modern sign in 2020.
Nice to get out onsite up a ladder in the fresh air while the weather holds off !! :-)
