Some snaps of a recently finished project.
Sadly a well known local welder, Roy Tompkins passed away quite suddenly recently and i was approached by the family to restore and repaint the original signwriting on his old van .Quite a rare thing nowadays to see a fully hand painted van and an honour to be asked to help out on this one. The design and colours were taken from some old photos and its been kept as near to the original as possible. Hopefully it will become as much of a recognised sight on the local roads as it used to be.

My sincerest condolences to the Thompkins Family and all that knew Roy.

Honoured to be asked and commissioned to restore the Gilding on the large external lamp structures that stand outside The Church of St James the Greater in the centre of Leicester.
These large lamp structures frame the entrance to the Church, and over the years have been repainted, covering the original Gold Leaf Gilding on the detailed small shields that cover near all corners and framed areas of both lamps ( 48 in total! )
All were cleaned up and re-gilded by hand with 23.5 ct Gold Leaf onsite.
Also updating the signwriting inside the Church with matching hand painted Gold-Leaf lettering adding the name of the current Vicar.

Back to the centre of good ol' leicester town for this one, up a ladder handpainting the new logo for Leicester's first 'Hot Bikram Yoga' business on a summer sunday morning.
Painted using the new vibrant colours from Sabre Paints, and all done with the trusty old brushes and mahl stick.
Inside wall logo completed also with paint, no stencil or stickers in sight :)
Opening in september 2022!

As well as traditional signwriting and hand painted signs another important part of my business is vehicle signage. Even though there are now quite a few companies offering this service, I still honesty believe that its all about experience and design at the end of the day and making the most out of what brief the client has supplied instead of rushing the job. Heres just a few photos of the recent vans completed over the past couple of weeks.

Back to the leicestershire market town of Market Harborough for this one, well... actually Great Bowden to be precise :-)  
Rewriting both fascias for Bowden Stores as they have had a refresh of paintwork on the outside.
Classic type hand painted signwriting for this one, painted in the clients supplied paint colours.

 
Classic vehicle signwriting on an old refurbished Ferguson Tractor, front and rear reg' numbers painted onsite onto the bodywork using Signwriting Enamels.

This was a fun one to do! Its always a joy to do these sort of window artworks / mural splashes.
This was commisioned by the award winning Maisie Darling Bridal Boutique in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.
This is all hand painted and was drawn up on-site ...the signwriting painted with my trusty old box of brushes and some cool new paints supplied by SabrePaintsUK.

Various projects completed these last few weeks, It's great to finally get outside without the threat of Rain and Gales!

Above is the newly opened Dom Restaurant & Bar on the premises of the old Poacher Brasserie.
The external Signwriting is painted direct to the render and brickwork and all matched to the new colour Pantone references. Hanging sign is Aluminium with a wooden frame, printed direct to substrate. All work done on-site 2022.

Above is a revisit to The Rock in Coalville, carrying on with the signwriting outside and a nice little logo hand painted direct to the inside café counter. Next visit coming soon with an even larger project outside now the weather is getting back on track :-)

 Been busy this last few weeks with various jobs and projects...
From hand gilded gold-leaf honours boards with drop shadows, to signwriting direct to external render for a local new bar and café in sunny Coalville... as well as the odd traditionally painted  hanging sign for local Leicestershire bespoke furniture manufacturers BOYD... oh, and a little homage to a certain band with some hand painted lettering inside The Rock in Coalville in the style of a quite famous album!

Now looking forward to getting some more outside work underway as soon as this weather gets a bit better :-)

Part of the main thing I enjoy about my job is the variety of different projects I get asked to do... this last week being a prime example of just that :-)
From hand painted script on the rear of a vintage VW Beetle bug destined for show, 
some van signwriting for a local electrician, designed and fitted on-site,
to hand painted pottery of various designs and colours!

Firstly, Happy New Year to all!

Been a busy month or so since my last post, various projects underway including some hand painted inspirational quotes around a local school, to full colour large scale wall wrap prints produced and fitted to the inside of the Loros hospice in Leicester.
