Ghost Signs : 'Ghost signs are also called fading ads or brickads. In many cases these are advertisements painted on brick that remained over time.' These are such an honour to do really, especially knowing that you are restoring another Signwriter's work from the past. This one was very faded indeed ( as you can see from the first photo below ), and was a bit of a challenge to trace off the lettering underneath to repaint it. The lettering/spacing and colours are as near the same as the original i could get from the original tracing . Thoroughly enjoyed doing this one, and hopefully this sign will be visable for years to come!
