DIY SOS Leicester... my little part

Early on this year i was left an answer message on my phone ( yep, as a lot of people will testify I’m the bloody worst at picking up my calls when on-site )
To my surprise it was the BBC, who were at that moment in time, making an episode of DIY SOS here in my home city of Leicester called 'Independence for Isla'
Anyway, long story short...
Truly honoured to be asked as a local Signwriter and Sign Painter to contribute and be a small part of the surprise for little Isla and her family!
Isla was born with  a rare genetic disorder, mandibuloacral dysplasia, which makes her bones dangerously brittle and causes her major organs to age prematurely.
My small part ( in what was a massive local come together )  was a Hand Painted and Gilded wooden Sign. Painted in Isla's favourite colours and with the family words 'Be Safe, I Love You'.( The Family had always had this message above the entrance door so it was read when leaving the house )
I hope the Sign gives the family lots of joy and a big thank you to Gordon, and the rest of team at BBC for the shout out to contribute.
Incredible job done by tons of Local businesses and people who gave up their time to get the transformation and surprise done in such a short space of time.... amazing job!!!
The Leicester episode of DIY SOS is now on Iplayer and was aired last night, filmed originally back in February this year.
